OWNER SURRENDERS: Please be advised that we will offer you assistance to either help you keep the animal in your home or else to find a new home directly from your home or that of friend/family. We do NOT take owned animals directly into foster care. As much as we would like to help, we do not have enough existing fosters to keep up with the animals being euthanized with our local shelter partners. Our shelters are in crisis and for every 100 dogs that we are asked to help, we have approximately 1 foster. If you are interested in our owner assist rehoming program, please fill out this form: https://betterworldrescue.org/owner-assist-rehoming/
SPAY/NEUTER: If you would like to sign up for our low-cost spay/neuter program, please fill out this application: www.betterworldrescue.org/spay-neuter-assistance
STRAY DOGS: Please work with animal control for any stray dogs you have found. It is illegal to rehome a stray dog without serving a stray hold where every conceivable effort is made to find owner. This includes animals that appear to be neglected or abused – these especially need to be reported to animal control. If they are severely injured or sick we will work with animal control to pull them immediately if we have the resources to do so. The stray hold STARTS when you contact animal control and file a found report for the dog/cat. Animal control can best advise how long the stray hold is for your jurisdiction.
